also i dont think you should go by years of experience. i know MANY riders who''ve been "riding" for years and years but only put MAYBE 1k miles on their bikes in a year. i''ve only been riding 13 months and have done 26k.

this poll should be titled "is a 600 a good bike for a dumbass immature person". its all about maturity. a 1k is a different story...but a 600....learn on it!

I would say no to an RR model, but ok to a 600. The reason i say it isnt even the power or maturity. If you have to fear the bike or take it easy to learn its only going to slow your learning curv, and even if you can handle it and be responsible your not going to learn how to ride well nearly as fast. wish i could type more tho.

I would say they are...but there is a lot to it...my 600 for instance...has much less get up and go than todays 600''s...i started on a 600 and had never ever ridden a bike/quad in my life...i respected the power(still do) and i''m ok, i personally would never waste money on a 250...from what i hear your sick of it in a month....

I say its a great bike to start with. As others have stated it depends on the maturity of the person. I also feel that some people dont fit on a 250, Im 6''3" 225 and I would not feel comfortable on the bike. So learning on a 600 has been just fine for me, and I am a new rider.

For a guy riding a 600 your penis turns inward to form a vagina.   1000cc or go home.
