Now before Shadow says "RTFM", I want to know, do you check your oil on the dipstick (centerstand enabled) with or without screwing it down.  I''ve had different feedback on this and I thought I''d ask the guru''s on the forum.......

Without screwing it down. The bike should be level as well, whether you hold it level or on the centerstand (assuming the ground is level that the stand is sitting on).

sit on bike. Keep bike centered. Put dipstick in, DO NOT SCREW DOWN. Remove dip stick and check level.

How I was taught.

Do you need to have the engine hot or you can measure right in the morning before you start it, I have a BMW boxer engine too, on that damn thing you need to lock at the glass circle, but you must get the engine propper hot, then leave it on the side stand for 5 minutes, them put it on the center stand wait for another 5 minutes and then check again the glass circle, funny german engineers!!

Regards and v''s,
Luis

The above procedures haven''t changed since I bought my first Honda over 35 years ago.
