I''m kind of interested too.  My 99 F4 has 42K miles (bought it a few months ago with 40K) and I''m sure it needs the valves adjusted.  I''ve done valves on my Ninja 250 and an old KZ400 but never something this fancy.

all i can say is have fun.

It is a major pain in the butt with the motor in the frame.

basically you will want to do a valve clearance check and THEN start buying shims. Sometimes you can get lucky and move shims around so you don''t have to buy as many.

What about getting someone professional to do it?
At least if he/she screws up at least you have someone to blame...LOL!

I''m sure it''ll cost you an arm and a leg, but it will be done the right way.
I try staying away from the motor components, but that just my opinion.

I believe your manual states the valves should be adjusted for the first time at 25,600 Km.
16,000 Km may be a little early.
