RACING CAMS, HEADS PORTED AND POLISHED, OR THE BOTTLE( DRY 30 SHOT)? DONT BOTHER MENTIONG A PC3. I THINK THERE A WASTE OF MONEY AND OVERRATED? JUST MY OPINION THOUGH. ANY OTHER IDEAS ARE APPRECIATED? I''M NOT A KNOW IT ALL SO I''M ALWAYS WILLING TO LEARN. THANX FELLAS.

take it to a track. If you still need more speed get a pilots license.

And to do any of that you will need a PCIII or similar n a custom tune n map.

I''VE SEEN A FEW BIKES WITH HEADS PORTED AND POLISHED WITHOUT A PC3. JUST TURNED THE GAS FLOW UP A BIT THROUGH THE ECU SYSTEM. ONE OF THEM IS A 06 GSXR 1000 AND RUNS BETWEEN A 9.1 AND 9.3 IN 1/4 MILE. AT LEAST WHEN I WAS WATCHING. THANX FOR THE REPLY THOUGH. GUESS I BETTER GET MY PILOTS LICENSE CAUSE I''VE TOPPED MY BIKE OUT B4. 176MPH WITH THE SMALL MODS I HAVE.

I doubt seriously they were running a stock ecu n if they were they were not running at their best.

I''M NOT GONNA SIT HERE AND SAY I SEEN THE WORK GET DONE BUT A BUDDY OF MINE DOES THE WORK FOR HIM, AND THATS HOW I KNEW WHAT HE HAD DONE. BURKHEAD PERFORMANCE IF YOUR IN THE RICHMOND, VA. AREA. HE DOES GREAT WORK

So you want to go faster then 176, or get there faster, or both? I also assume your wants are just for straight line?

a little more top speed would b fine with me, but my main concern is getting there faster. im gonna start drag racing at a track this year, dont want to lose to those damn suzuki''s.

Oh also do you have a full exhaust or just a can? If just for the track i would do the bottle and more bolt on''s. If you really want the everyday power build the motor, but thats gonna cost ya alot of dough.

+1 To get the best performance out of all of those mods, you would need to retune. Especially if you''re gonna run NOS, you''re going to have to figure out some way of richening the mixture.

BTW, the PCIII is how you turn the ''gas flow'' up on a fuel injected system...

Now granted i dont know bikes as well as cars so i have to ask, cant the stock ecm be flashed, or retuned? I assume dealers can do it, so couldent someone else buy the needed equipment, then you wouldnt need the pc3.

Yes, its possible, if they will do it or not i dont know. I would doubt it since a Pc3 is so cheap and basically easier and better.

my mechanic went into the ecu and changed the amount of gas flow or sumthing, he said it does the same thing as a pc3 without paying $300 or so. maybe not as detailed or sumthing. i dont know. i do have a full hindle exhaust and i thought about getting a motor built but really cant throw that much cash into it rite now. tryin to save 4 a good ole vacation to jamaica. turbo does add a lot of power, but from what i heard its easy to blow a bike motor up with one. dont know if i want to take that chance.

Some can, some can''t (depends on the micro and how accessible it is). I''m not sure on the specifics of the 954 (or Hondas in general), but I don''t think they would give that kind of flexibility to the dealers to do a custom tune. If you could reflash, the dealer would probably only be able to use a specific program rather than a truley custom tune.

I''ve never heard of a program to help you tune the ECM, so I wouldn''t even know where you''d start...

There''s the answer on the ECM... Sounds like you just need the right software/cables.

As far as a turbo, we already have a pretty high compression ratio. I would think you''d need to run race gas and/or run it at very little boost to have the motor last more than 5k miles...
