Hey all, I recently installed a manual CCTL on my F4i and I think it''s loosened up on me a bit (going to bust out the locktite), as there is a clicking at idle and at 5k rpm; either that or I got it slightly loose on installation. Anyway, since it''s considerably easier to adjust the damn thing w/o the airbox on, I''m wondering if there are any good reasons NOT to start the engine w/o the airbox (other than air filtering). Will I have any trouble starting it? I''d like to know I have the CCTL set correctly before putting the bike back together. It would also be nice to know in general, as I''m not particularly knowledgable about how all the FI components affect the running of the engine. Thanks! P.S. Sorry if this is a 2x post, but I searched a few times and didn''t come up with any threads that addressed this.

I''m like 98% sure that the motor depends on resistance from the air filter to run smoothly. It''s like running without an exhaust; the motor needs back pressure.
