I have a 2008 cbr 600rr and i got a screw in my rear tire. There is only 800 miles on the bike.. Its still in there and its not leaking air. Is this patchable or do i need to buy a whole new tire? I took it NTB and ask if they could put a plug in it and they said it might ruin the tire and would not do it. Any suggestions

Ya i was mad!!!! Its like dead in the center of my tire. I think im just going to plug/patch it and check it every day for a few weeks.  Then keep checking it every week or so.

Could just patch it and do some sweet burnies and just buy a new one!

If you wanna patch it the owner at a local shop said he did that once on his bike. What he did was he took the tire off and ruffed up the inside where the hole was and then put a patch on there. I wouldnt mess with a plug nor use this for long term.

+1

Plugs are all fine and dandy on a car, but when you only have 2 wheels touching the road, you don''t want to chance a plug.  It''s too risky IMO, especially when a new tire is relatively inexpensive.

if your gonna use slime you might as well use ducktape.   put a plug in it.  temporarily till you can get a tire.  my buddy had about 12 plugs in his last tire with no problems but thats not saying that something cant happen.  and you know what streetbike shit is expensive. that doesent mean you cant ride Freak*06rr.     do what you can for now man.   rubber side down

Do what I did, i kept running over random stuff and getting flat rears, once i left my bike at my buddies house over the weekend, i got it back with a 3/4 inch bolt in the back tire, i can''t beleive i didnt even feel it. anyways... i got tired of paying all this damn money for new pilot powers and i bought the "insurance" from cycle gear... then i stopped getting flats. figure my luck that i pay for the insurance and then shit stops flying into my tires x_x

just fyi for everyone saying plugs..

you can kiss your speed rating goodbye if you plug that hole. (to about 80mph i think, ill have to look it up again)
perfectly fine if you got a harley or cruiser...
but dont even for a second tell me you arent going to do over 80.. lol

the integrity of the tire is now compromised..

slime is shit, especially on a tubeless tire, it gets EVERYWHERE (i change tires at one of my jobs, its a good way to piss off your tire guy if you dont let him know)

just cough up the money and go buy a new tire.
if you go somewhere like cyclegear you can get the warranty for $30 so if it happens again your out $30 instead of $170
