Hey guys..I know the whole debate over leather/mesh/textile and know I don''t want leathers, so aside from that what are some good suggestions for some summer riding pants? I do want something that offers good protection, but still want to stay cool.
I''ve found these...http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/Fieldsheer_Titanium_Air_2_Mesh_Pant506202.html and they seem like a good choice..anyone tired them yet?? I''d also like something around this price range if possible...Thanks a lot..

no debate to it. If you want protection leather is the way to go. If you want sumtin so ya can tell ya mom, SO, etc you wear gear then the others will work for you.

The draggin jeans etc are ok for around town etc. But dont think for a minute they will hold up if you go blasting thru the twisties or down the interstate.

But any gear is better than no gear.

Sorry about that link...Here it is again: http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/Fieldsheer_Titanium_Air_2_Mesh_Pant506202.html
Hopefully it works this time.
Most of my riding is through small towns and country roads with out much aggressive riding. I know the leathers protect better even in unaggressive riding but I also want something a little more breathable.

I''ve got a pair of those.  (Incidentally, the guy who wrote the review on the website is wrong.  The knee armor is easily adjustable he obviously just doesn''t understand how.)  As protective as leather?  No.  But better than denim.  If you''re not on a racetrack or otherwise rolling waaaay over the speed limit, they are probably good enough.  (I''ve taken a post-impact slide at 60 mph in denim and did fine.  No injuries.  No scrapes.)

The Fieldsheer Titanium Air 2 Mesh pants are very comfortable.  The knee armor is easily adjustable through the magic of a series of velcro closures.  The pants don''t provide a cooling breeze, but they stay cooler than leather or denim.  I am very happy with them so far.

The feildsheer pants are prolly fine for the type of riding you stated.

to each their own, but I am willing to bet 99% of the leather haters NEVER wore leather. My leathers are cooler to wear than jeans are. They have breathable stretch panels that let air flow in. There are also perforated leathers that as long as you''re moving, provide plenty if air flow.

the guy who had a get off at 60 in jeans n didnt get a scratch, YOU WERE LUCKY!! I seen get offs @30mph or less rash the hell out of ppl. Speed doesnt necessarily have anything to with it.

And remember, if its to hot to wear the gear, its to hot to ride

What brand of leathers do you have. I just haven''t heard of many people saying leathers are too breathable.

I have the Teknic Chicanes. You can get perforated (full of lil holes) leather too that let air flow too. Now sitting n slowass traffic not moving very much at all. Yes it gets hot as hell, but I dont think much if anything would be cool then lol.

Here''s some leather pants I found on knee draggers. (Yes I am starting to be more open to them because of you!) lol. What features do you suggest looking for PlayfulGod??

http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/Joe_Rocket_Blaster_2.0_Pants_Perforated506258a.html

http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/AGV_Sport_Sportrider_Vented_Leather_Pants610441.html

http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/Tour_Master_Apex_Perforated_Mens_Leather_Pant601868.html

Is Joe Rocket''s quality better or is AGV a cheaply made? Or does Joe Rocket just charge you for the name?? Thanks a lot for any help..

perforated leather is a crap load more breathable, imo, than textile.

Links dont work

JR n AVG are both good names and both tend to charge for their name as does A* and ICON. Teknic seems to be middle ground on pricing on their stuff. I have a JR perforated leather jacket, Teknic leather pants, Teknic n Power Trip gloves, Sidi Vertigo boots.

Also sorry about the links...I don''t know why they aren''t working...the JR''s and AVG''s all have good reviews though for the most part...the TM is unreviewed though...
