what i want to know is when i remove the tank i shut the valve off, now does the valve come off with the tank or am i looking at spilling a fair amount of fuel here?

You disconnect the fuel line from the valve (which stays on the tank). I am interested to know where you got your R/R and for how much.

I got my R/R off an ebay store.  but he has a legit store front as well. Flying Squirrel Motorcycle
www.fsmotorcycle.com

its a guy from a city not to far from my self.

its an OEM Honda part and i payed $130 for it plus $12 shipping

i talked with him via email he said he can get anything you need usually in only a few days.

his name is Glen

Thanks,
I opted to go with an aftermarket R/R from a guy in Oregon.

I got my R/R replaced guys now im getting a charge! the Alternator harness was melted all to hell.  im guessing the previous owner boosted it from a running vehicle.

anyways i just cut the harness off the R/R and the bike then i crimped and shrink wrapped some bullet connectors on and connected them. it seems to be charging now according to my volt meter.

Just wondering if the way i ficed the harness issue will be ok?  i used warer proof het shrinkable bullet connectors.

just a question too. all the wires for the alternator are yellow am i correct in thinking thet all serve the same purpose and have the same voltage? i did label and connect the wires according to the harness location but could i have just connected them to whatever? since they are all yellow? and the schematic shows the call come from the same place and are the same color.

Yes, assuming that you can crimp properly and are confident in your own work.

You are correct. It is a 3 phase alternator so it doesn''t matter in what order they are connected just as long as the connections are good and tight!
