Hi there,

Got the ''08 CBR 600 and just noticed today that the license plate and taillight monstrosity on the back needs to go.  I''ve seen some suggestions on this site but hoping for some specifics on where to find what I''m looking for.  Also, is this something I do myself or should I have it professionally installed?  Keep in mind that I''m new to bikes and don''t even know how to grease the chain yet.

Any help/direction is appreciated.

Thanks!

Do it yourself if you want to make the factory smaller. I was in your shoes about a month ago and made one for @ $30 (including new signals), but I''m also keeping my exhaust stock (I like the look for now)  http://cbrnation.com/download/file.php?id=271 ... http://cbrnation.com/download/file.php?id=270
if not, I would go with www.tripageled.com

Well... "difficult" sounds like it may be a relative term in your case. If you''re mechanically inclined, even just a little, I would say that it''s not at all difficult to remove. If you''re the type of person who''s all rider, but would rather let someone else fix and/or modify your ride... then fork over the money and let a dealer do it.

If you''re interested in the details on how to remove the entire bracket, it''s fairly easy to find. If you''re thinking you''ll want to get your hands dirty and do maintenance and fix/modify your own bike, I rec. getting a shop service manual. Those things are great!
