what is the best oil to use? - 2/8/2006 2:53:10 PM    syko9   Posts: 45 Joined: 12/16/2005 Status: offline Just wondering what kind of motor oil you guys use on your bike. I use amsoil 10w-40 I believe it is. I have to look at the container again. It is a full synthetic oil. I heard that the full synthetic oil was not always the best oil to use cause the clutch clould slip. My mechanic just told me that a full synthetic oil was not the best. And if i go from a full synthetic back to regular will that mess up the engine? _____________________________ Go Fast!! No problems, might be a bit thick in the winter, I dunno. As far as the clutch problem goes, you want to steer clear of "energy conserving " oils, because some contain friction modifiers that can retard clutch operation. (in reply to Repsol1) Post #: 13
