Came across a set of calipers and rotors from a wrecked 08 1000RR. they bolted right up. 1000RR Has lightened, 10mm larger rotors and unlike my 600, the calipers are one piece instead of two. I think it is an awesome mod. whats your opinion???

Silly question but are you finding the stock 600RR brakes are not providing enough braking power, or is this just for looks?

No not at all. the original brakes were fine.  my buddy totaled his 1000RR and said i could have them if i wanted, so i figured why not. i didn''t do it for looks, actually the originals looked better. Ive put about 200 miles on since the swap and I''m finding that the brakes don''t have the initial grab like the original, but they are way more consistent and a lot smoother. I haven''t been to the track with them yet to see for sure. there''s a few things that I''m concerned about.
1- the rotors stick out a little bit past the edge of the tire, unlike the stock

2-the 1000RR offset on the rotors is about 10mm more than stock, so the inner 2 pistons are out that much more than the outer pistons.

I think its pretty cool that they bolted on. It''s always good to know what your options are. Thanks for sharing the info!
