i just bought a 96 cbr 600 f3. im having headlight/fairing issues but my questions is well to start my bike has that i kno of is a stage 2 jet kit[and to add when i took of the air box and filter to check them the carbs look immaculate like right out of the box] its got an v and h slip on. and im thinking its got an ignition advancer. and i dont kno what the rear sprockett is supposed to have but it counts 44. the bike only has 8100 miles on it. without going into heads or opening motor[dont kno if it has anything done to it] what else can i do to get it moving faster. right now my bike top ends at 173 and when i lined it up to my friends 07 cbr 600 rr, both of us taching them out he just couldnt touch me with a 10 foot pole he had no chance so the bike screams but i want more.

its not a hobby its my life ive been riding street/racing bikes since i was 12 started on yz80 then a  kawa 250 and up. i want to see if i can get this 600 to stand up to a gsxr 1100 or a busa i like the way a 600 feels in turns and acceleration better than the gsxr 1000 i used to ride. i kno it might be possible  but i wanna work my way up do everything i can as add ons then go inside the motor

I predict an ambulance or helicopter in your future

Btw your tach is really off past 125...so have fun thinking you''re going as fast as the needle says. The only way to accurately tell your speed is with a speedohealer or GPS

Amen to that, preach it!

My brother didn''''t sign out of his account...(I posted under Kay Gee)

But it''''s about a 5.7% inaccuracy from the factory. But it gets even more off as you go past 125...I can guarantee you that you''''re not going that fast. 175 is probably 150 or so. Still enough to get you in jail.

But back to the topic...I don''''t think it''''s worth the time or the effort to try and compete with a busa or liter bike. The 600 is what it is, and any modern day FI crotch rocket (even a 600) will hand you your ass. I"m guessing these bikes make around 90hp at the wheel? The new R6 is like 130...that is a huge difference. Just have fun with what it is. These bikes still have balls
