So i just got back from my first Honda Hoot in Knoxville TN last week. Rode the Dragons Tail and the Cherohala Skyway. Absoutely amazing rodes down there. They were well paved and no gravel.  Too many police on the tail though, it ruined it for me.  Rode it four times and everytime i rode there were atleast 4 TN state troopers gunning with radar. The speed limit through the dragon is only 30mph!!!! They were writing tickets for 3 and 4 mph''s over! Really sucked... As far as the Hoot, its mostly Goldwing''s. I think i saw about ten sportbikes the whole trip, and the average age appeared to be 65 years old lolol. Anyways, just wanted to let you guys know that the Dragon and the Cherohala Skyway is everything its cracked up to be... Get down there if you can.

I agree, the roads are everything you hear about.   Does suck about all the cops, however, looking at it from their standpoint, if someone were to go down in those mountains, you are about an hour away from any hospital and for an ambulance to get to ya...   too many accidents and deaths on that road to screw around.  Last summer when I went, I counted 22 from the beginning to the end....  this summer around may, only 2...  they have eased off a little thankfully.  if anyone gets a chance, another great place to ride is about 2-3hrs south of the Tail, in Suches, GA.  Never seen a cop there and plenty of curves!!

I have taken both of those roads a handfull of times...well worth the trip...but yes the LEO''s have ruined the fun of the dragon....no check that...the eeeediots who ride beyond thier abilities on the dragon have ruined it.  lets hope they dont do the same thing to the cherohala
