Hey all, new to the site as well as new to biking(on the street anyways). So i''ve got a question with regard to engine cooling. I''ve got an 05 CBR600RR and i''m wondering what the average temp is you guys run into during your drives. I''m up here in Alberta, so my temp gauge is in celcius, it runs between 80-90 degree''s on hot days, but when im sitting at lights it goes up to 110 degrees, course the fan kicks in, but it only does so much. Im wondering if these are normal operating temps or not, and if anyone uses a coolant additive, ie: water wetter or engine ice. Any feedback would be great!

If you''''re temp gauge starts to blink, then you will need to worry. When it blinks, that means its running above its normal temp. If its not, well ya should be fine [:)] It also should say in the owners manual where it should be at.

I don''t really care to do the C to F conversion, but on a hot day mine runs at about 180-190 F while riding and 225 F when stopped for a minute or longer.

Thanks for the welcome! and the tips, I haven''t had the temp light come on yet, hopefully it won''t.

That seems about right then for what i''ve been running at, 110C-230F. We''ve just had a few warmer than usual days and I noticed the temps climbing a bit higher than what I was used too. Thanks for the input
