I had that same one on my 954...great addition

TENNBANSHEE -> RE: Harris damper.... (6/30/2008 7:33:33 PM)

that is tight.  i like the solid tank.  whats the word on the damper performance? I know that before the damper install I would get some headshake topping out second and third.  But now with the damper, it is rock solid.

SurfnSCal -> RE: Harris damper.... (6/30/2008 8:58:37 PM)

It looks good. I am more a Scotts man myself. But i''m totally diggin on your front brake reservoir. It looks blacked out. Am i right or was i seeing things? But hey you are doing a great job on the bike. Keep it up!

Thanks guys.  The damper seems to reduce headshake....still need to ride a bit to see the full benefits.  SurfnSCal, yes the reservoir is black....glad you like.

I went riding a little today and can tell a BIG difference in how stable the front end feels now.  Best investment I have made.  I got my LSL frame sliders on today....they look sick but don''t know how functional they will be and hope I never find out.

I agree.  I rode this afternoon and it is amazing how tight and precise the bike reacts now.  I understand why many others have said that this should be one of the first mods for the 54.

(Cant get rid of the underline for some reason) (Yes ... I tried the underline button)

Tennbanshee/Sceptre, Have either of you tried the scotts damper, if so how does it compare to the harris? I have read the sport bike reviews on them all, and was just curious about your personal opinions. And how do you think it handles compared to the stock bike? I understand you said it handles more precisely and stable, but could you explicate further? Thank you in advance!![sm=smiley1.gif]

sceptre -> RE: Harris damper.... (7/2/2008 4:48:38 AM)

I have never used a Scott''s damper but hear they are good.  I went with the Harris because I like the piston style better and the fact that less people have it.  The salesman I spoke with said that all the high $ dampers perform.

As stated earlier the bike does handle better....used to get "squirrely" when taking the gears to redline (not wheelying) sp?, now it feels more stable. That can only transfer over to a more solid feel in the curves especially on bad roads.
