How easy is it  to remove and install  the upper triple tree  . Installing a chrome one want to do it myself

Simple, remove the large hex head bolt, loosen the bolts that clamp the forks, when you pull it up just disconnect the ignition. From there you unscrew the screws that mount the ignition to the tree(i believe its 2 philips head and two allen key screws), reinstall on new one in reverse order but dont over tighten(if its stock then your okay, if its one of those pittech from ebay then do not overtighten). When i replaced mine with a aftermarket polished one it took me a total of maybe less than 10 minutes.

Be careful though, I went through hell removing my ignition from the tree.  The bolts on there are tighten only bolts.  I had to drill them out using the reverse threader, then order new bolts.

I just drilled out the old bolts, then used two hex head bolts to re-install....alot easier to remove next time....
