Ok so I''m lowering my bike an inch and a half... I know no one likes it, but im short (5''6) and I would feel much more comfortable. So in order to do so I picked these up... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&viewitem=&item=360064682134

If the link ends up not working, they are just titled "Billet Lowering Links"

Ok now from what I''ve seen the most popular method of lowering a motorcycle is by getting an adjustable wishbone, so I don''t know if these will actually lower the bike what they are saying its going to lower it, or I just got ripped off...

So I''d appreciate some help from anyone willing. Thanks.

No, i''''m pretty sure those will lower your rear.  The more aligned the 3 bolt holes are the lower your rear will be.  The only thing i would be worried about is the strength of the material.  People probably lower using the dogbone because it is a stronger and thicker piece.  Hopefully yours will hold up.

It claims to be made out of the same material I''ve seen the dog bones lowered with I think its alright. I think I have an advantage over the dog bone guys only in its two pieces of metal so if one does brake I still have another one holding me up. Plus it has another link of metal to brake through before it gives away completely. I''m not saying the bike would be fine, but I figure if I check them before i ride the bike like I would the oil and chain and all that I''ll be alright. Thanks for the help guys. I''m gonna try to get them in this afternoon after work so We''ll see how it goes :)

Doesn''t this do something to affect the performance too.  I am a newb and heard that it can affect the way you do wheelies (not that I have any desire to do so), but I may be wrong.  Also post some pics when you have installed them we want to see them!!

From what I''ve been told it does decrease the turning performance of the bike a bit. I''m only lowering it an inch and a half (next level would be 3.5 inchs) and I''m not going to the track so I highly doubt I personally will be able to notice it at all. If it is a big change I''ll just make the suspension harder to make up how low it is.
As far as pics go, thats actually a good idea I''ll take pictures of it before and after and post em up. I need to find a way to take the weight off of the rear so I can do the work first though... Maybe my bro will help me out lol.

Why do you need yours lowered? I''''m 5''''1 and had my dropped 3.5 but only because at my height I didn''''t have a choice. You should be fine with it stock. But anyway your choice, I got the stainless steel version of those and yes they do work.

Actually, i believe that lowering it will INCREASE the turning performance of the bike. The problem that arises from lowering is that you don''t have as much leaning clearance making it easier for you to scrape the more you lean.

When my shift linkages got bent from a lowside the littlest speed bump would scratch the bottom.  How you go to 3.5 inches lower is crazy.

I also got mine lowered 1.5" because at the dealer they said I would be at a risk of scraping if I went any lower. I only got it lowered because I stepped on an uneven side of the road and couldn''t reach the ground so I laid the bike down(I''m only 5''5").

Yeah I bought it that way a month ago, It''s the 02 special edition, only one made. I''''m going to take off the decals when I ever remember to order some new ones. I peeled off the F4i ones

Well its done. I notice it quite a bit. Before I lowered I would have said I was about 2 inches away, now i can''t ALMOST flat foot, but the bike feels much more comfortable and easy to handle at a stop still. I did notice that when I go around corners with the stock suspension hardness, my foot touched the ground, so I''m going to stiffen it up a bit, I honestly preffer it harder. Now im trying to do a few other things like a fender eliminator, but not going to pay 120 bucks for a piece of bent metal so I''m gonna have to find a how to on making one. It really doesn''t look that hard, I bet it would take an hour or two to make + install.
