OK, I have a the silverish/gold frame on my bike (see profile pic to the left), and my goal is to eventually get everything on the bike besides the yellow fairings painted (or powder coated) black.  Is there any decent way to get my frame black without having to take the bike completely apart?  If anyone has some insight please let me know.

nope...that''s really it....i have been on this board and slowly doing what you propose to do...i having gotten black and red bolts, powdercoated the engine, stator cover, rearsets, new chainguard, brake line clips, etc....

this fall the swingarm, subframe are getting coated along with the suspension linkage, etc....to really do it, you have to be willing to tear your bike apart and put it back together...

on a side, if you want someone to do it FOR you...it will run you $1500+ (at least that is what i got quoted) to take out the engine, PC the frame, and put it back together...

thanks...if you have any questions or want some advice as to blacking out your bike, let me know...i have done extensive research as to what you can do and how you can do it...it''s time and money intensive but it''s fine and the bike ends up looking sick!

yes, but most people would recommend against it because of the high temp...you can ceramic coat it (which has a MUCH higher temp rating), but you aren''t going to have the same availability of finishes or color with ceramic....

for example on my bike, the midpipe and the muffler cap are ceramic coated gloss black...the actually can is made of carbon fiber, but the metal pieces fitted to it and the midpipe are ceramic coated...
