IHello,
New Member, longtime cbr owner, but finally my first 954.

This is a salvage bike that has just come back togeather, however I have a fairly serious problem.  The FI fault light (red engine fault, and FI lamp,) flicker when the bike is at idle, and pretty much stay on at anything above idle.

Oil pressure is solid, cooling system works well, I''''ve pulled the plugs and nothing drasticly wrong with the A/F.

The bike has a full micron serpent exhaust, and a PCIII.  The power delivery is impressive, and all throttle positions/loadings work well.  This is an open loop fuel injection system, so I''''m afraid I may have a bad sensor around.  Any notorious FI errors with these bikes, or just a good place to start?

Has anyone else experienced this? -Perhaps from a PCIII, or from airbox/intake mods.

Thanks, Dave

Kickstand down, turn on the run switch, then turn the key on but dont start it. The FI light should blink, count how many blinks and report back here.

Code is: Faulty EGCV and air intake valve servo motor voltage.

I am running a lil short on time this morn, gotta head to work, but i will try and layout some useful in fo here for ya anyhow.

Option 1 down load the service manual and read up on the prob and perhaps if you have the equipment diagnose if its a short or faulty EGCV. link here.......http://www.stephygee.com/954RRmanual.zip

Option 2 use the search function at the top of the forum here,  this is a somewhat common problem, and i know there are some write ups on replacing or even disconnecting the EGCV and just manually pinning it wide open.

Option 3 if you have a Power programmer, or are thinking of purchasing one, you can go here......http://showcase.netins.net/web/draftingunlimited/page8.html  and purchase an eliminator, then never have to worry about the problem agian.

Hope some of this info helps.
