Valve Clearance: Step by Step guide?

Anyone ever post a step by step guide on how to do this? I''m at 21,000 miles and they haven''t even been looked at. Should I feel guilty? I don''t run the bike hard. I''ve heard checking the clearances is pretty easy to do... but then again, a mechanical engineer told me that.

I wouldnt sweat it.MIne just rolled 16k ,i have zero plans on checking mine till 32k..This is what my buddies that work at dealerships recommended to me(im also a auto tech so i can believe them)..I drive mine HARD also ..
