I''m just curious if anybody else experiences this... When i change my oil, for a couple hundred miles after there is a funny smell. of course you don''t really smell it until you stop. Now I relized it only smelled after oil changes so i''m thining that maybe it is the filter getting hot between the headers and giving off a smell for a little while. Anybody else?

Often you will spill a little oil on the headers.  You can use brake cleaner for the spill, but try putting a rag over the headers.

Or....be sure to remove the plastic from the filter before installation.

It''s none of those, i cover the headers with tin foil and I sure wouldn''t leave the plastic on the filter.

it could be the oil on the filter surface, the paint on the filter or the oil that drips a bit from the filter holder down on metal... if the oil pressure is normal after oil change and the light doesn''t come on, i assume that is no reason to worry...
