So I haven''t really measured any bikes or truck beds, but what size trucks accommodate a street bike in the bed? Just wondering how small of a truck can you go with and still manage to park a bike in the bed.

I got my f4i in my 93 yota short bed. Could not get the tailgate up but it was completly in the bed.

I have a Chevy K2500HD with a 6 1/2 foot shortbed. Bike fits just right with the tailgate up.

my bike fit in a 93 ranger splash(flare side) bed...I think thats the smallest bed made by a tuck too(6" and narrow)and the gate would barley shut with my bike sideways in the bed.

a bike should fit in any size bed whether the gate will shut or not, as long as its strapped down good its not going anywhere.

I''ve hauled every one of my motorcycles and dirtbikes, and others for friends in a 1981 Chevy Luv truck.  It''s probably the same size as an S-10 or a little smaller.  You''ll be fine with anything so long as it still has the tailgate on it if its a smaller truck.

I''d rather have a small trailer then to always have to find a high spot so to ride the bike into the bed and still probably have to lift the bike.

any truck will fit the bike, some with tailgate up some with it down, shortest bed ive ever seen is 6 foot and with the tail gate down it makes it about 7-8feet long and the bike is only 6.5feet or something like that. Get a good ramp and you wont need a high spot to load the bike. just make sure you have a ramp that is about 8 feet long.

The ramp is the problem.   If you''ve never had to stop on a ramp then try it.   Also finding your footing if need be its not fun.

Alright thanks guys, I was looking at something like this maybe http://www.discountramps.com/smc-600-motorcycle-hauler.htm it''''s just $250 and looks to be a little less luggage than a trailer.  I dunno, I''''m just trying to consider my options for another vehicle.I would hate to get rear ended with something like that on though, it would hurt.

Pretty neat, but I dont know why but all I can see if someone ramming the back of your ride and your bike getting smooshed.  Of course that can happen with a trailer too.

Looks decent.

Yeah I miss my 22re I ran it into a van at 45 after sliding for 100 feet. The cop offered to call a tow truck i beat the bumper of my tire and drove it 3 miles home.

2005 silverado (lifted) and i get my 06 CBR1kRR in there (tailgate up)... even with longer bikes you can strap the bike down to the bed then move the rear end to one side to get more room to put up the tailgate.

yea i can fit two bikes in my s-10 also with plenty of room in the bed for gear and supplies. You just have to be crafty, and $250 FOR A RAMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get the ramp heads from lowes and 2x10x16 cut it in half and you have two 8 foot ramps that are very nice for less than $40. Thats what i did at least and loading is a breeze, just get a good start and push her on up, jump into the bed as your pushing it up the ramp and pop the kickstand down, lean it over, get straps ready, put kick stand up, and strap her down, unloading is just as easy.
