I''ve got a bar end that''s got the threads buggered up...how do I remove the piece that''s inside the handle bar?  The threads are pulled out and I''m not able to pull it out.

Maybe if I knew what was inside the bar.  The hole is pretty elongated, made from aluminum and appears to be only about 1/2" deep.  It also appears to have a rubber outer sleeve which make me believe the mount screw may have to push on the dead end center and wedge the inside into the bar?  I checked out a Clymer manual form the library and I can find no mention of the bar ends.  The Honda mech''s were of no help to boot.  If someone has a diagram of it I may be able to figure out how to take it out and fix or replace it.  If I have to replace it, is anyone using one of those locking bar ends?  Would be a great place to lock the jacket when walking around.

I think the inside looks like the ones shown here - when you tighten them, the rubber sleeve expamds inside the pipe. Over time, the rubber can attach itself to the inside of the bar, which may mean that to effect a proper repair, you may have to drill it out.
Maybe spraying some sort of light oil into the bar (Q20) may help free the thing.
I''m speaking under correction here, as I haven''t been able to remove the inner sections from my bars...

At the end of the bars with the bar end off, peel the grip back and there is a small hole thats the locking clip holding it all in, press something in there and you should be able to free it, i lost a bar end going down the motorway and i found i had snapped the internals leaving a piece in there,i was lucky a friend had also lost 1 and had a complete internal and bar-end spare he showed me how it all came out and went back together again, its a lot simpler than it looks, i was getting ready to get the drill ind hammers out...

Thanks for all the info so far.  Mine is broken on the throttle side.  I''ll give it a try this weekend and let you know how it comes out.
