That I suppose is up in the air depending on the rider and the situation. For instance in Maine sports typically dont wave to harley's and they will never wave to us. It's more of a left hand down toward the road. Like a low five kinda thing. But some riders just wave to everyone. Typically new riders.....Goldwings just like to wave, hell if you wanted you could wave them down and share a snack, most have a meal in their saddle bags! LOL

Here in the UK its a nod of the head, imagine your winking at someone its that same head movement. I`ll only ever raise a hand to someone I know.

I heard alot of people using it as holding two fingers up...or down towards the ground in this case. Sorta as if you were saying "two beers please". Not supposed to be as a "V". It supposedly means...."keep two wheels on the road". Hey....it's what I heard, don't flame the messenger!!

I nod/low wave to everyone I can, as long as it looks like they will wave/nod back. Get a lot of snoody hardley ablesons here during the summer, as sturgis is only about 1 1/4 hours from here...

If I wave its usually index and middle finger, sometimes thumb too just cause thats how it comes off the handle lol

Here in Nebraska, Sport bike riders usually don't acknowledge cruisers, and they don't acknowledge us either.

Slightly off topic but is there a special meaning for flipping up a persons gas tank lid while they arent around. When I go to the mall sometimes I come out to find my "key hole cover" has been lifted up. Any idea?
