Very simple project. Remove the tank bolts front and back. Can easily get someone to hold tank in the air for you. Back of the throttle bodies, closest to rear of tank. Should be two 8mm bolts that need to come out to remove the FPR. Also, 2 small hose clamps on each side of the FPR. Watch for gas to pour out when removing it. Doesnt matter if the tank is empty or not, because theres still gas in the hoses and still gas in the throttle bodies, so a little gas is going to spill.........No big thing at all, i''m sure u''ll look at it and say damn thats easy, hehe...=-)

I am doing it because it smells of gas after riding for a few minutes. When the bike is warmed up I need to give it a little throttle to start it.   Also, it seems to be hesitating very slightly when accelerating. I think it will continue to get worse if i dont change it.

I got this changed out today. Wasnt too bad, glad i tried it myself rather than pay the $200 labor a shop quoted me. Also changed my oil because it was mixed with gas. I hope this was because of the FPR ?? It runs smoother now and starts right up when hot.

if your FPR was bad. you will have a flooded engine. gas in the oil is totally normal when your FPR goes bad.. just be sure to get it changed asap before letting the bike run for more then a minute or two.

wannaride, plan on changing that oil again in 500-1000 miles as you want to get that excess gasoline out of the motor/oil

when your FPR is bad, gasoline cant return to the tank & therefore over-pressurizes your injectors flooding the cylinders..

cheers glad you got it changed out!
