So today i was coming home from work on the 05 600RR and i was sitting at a red light and i smelt something, looked down and coolant was leaking out the bottom of the bike and it was at 250F! so i turned it off, turned it back on to get through the intersection, and then off again to check it out.  I let it cool back down after i got to my apt.  i later took it for a spin then let it sit to get the temp up and let it go to 230 and noticed the fan didn''t turn on.  Ive already done a search and didn''t quit get what i was looking for.... so i think the water (i run water cause i cant run anti-freeze in races) boiled cause the fan didnt turn on..... so heres my questions
Could it be:
Fuse?
Motor in the fan?
Im pretty sure its not the wireing

On a side note, i tried to spin the fan and it wouldn''t rotate freely, which i think is typical of the fans on the 600RR.... this just happened to my buddys 06 600RR but he didn''t fix it cause it got totalled 3 days ago

first off you should at least be running some water wetter or some additive and not striahgt water.

water wetter is approved for most race courses as it has no anti-freeze in it, but it keeps temps in line.

check power to the fan, check the relay

the relay is under the seat. the service manual tells you how to check it, or im sure you can swap another relay over real quick off your buddies bike to see if yours is bad.

if its not the relay.
or the fan motor.
then its somewhere in the wiring. good luck with that.

either the relay or the motor.

and the motor is its own part number, seperate from the shroud and fan (at least on the 07''s) so it should be that expensive to replace..
