Just put a PC III in last weekend and downloaded the Akrapovic map from the site.  I''ve heard that because the online maps are generated in Las Vegas, NV and their gas and elevation is way different from CA, the maps are not ideal.  My question is - performance wise I only have a slip on Akrapovic exhaust - do you think spending $300 for a Dyno tune would be worth it?

Also, I modified the heat shield under the tail so it wouldn’t show when I removed some of the back fender.  Can I remove the entire heat shield?  Will that affect the plastics underneath?

if your akro is carbon fiber removing the heat shield will not hurt. i have a carbon 2 bros without the heat shield. carbon fiber does not hold in heat as metals do. it allows it to dissipate.

YES..

THe peak power may not change much..But the lower throttle areas is where you will see the biggest difference.  I rode on a dl map for awhile, then went to a friends custom map, then finally dyno tuned mine.. Air/fuel was pretty much the same, but the throttle response is night and day esp down low.

Heat shield -no help there.
