My 1998 F3 was sitting for a couple years. I pulled the carbs and had them cleaned by the Honda dealer. I put them back on and the bike ran fine, except it would hesitate when I rolled the trottle suddenly. If I revved it a few times first, then it would not hesitate. Now the bike would not start or maintain idle without the choke and if I roll the trottle, it cuts off. The bike has been sitting for a few weeks. Please help!

are you serious? you waited three minutes and you were upset you didnt get an answer?

this is a slow moving site, there usually aren''t many people on here, so i suggest you be patient and give it at least a day or so, maybe then you can bump it up

No problem with the Thanks, although you can click the edit button on your posts to make changes or additions.

As for the hesitation it sounds li.ke maybe some hoses are not on correctly. The hoses that go up to near the headlight are important. Check those.

I see we''re not too far from each other.

i second that. Disconnected Vacuum hoses will cause your bike to act pretty crazy. check the hoses running to your airbox. there should be a diagram on the top of the box.

Thanks for the ideas. I followed the diagram on top of the airbox, but there was no improvement. Any other ideas or specifics on tracing the vacuum hoses?

Yes "Idodirt", I''m just down the street from you. Hey, if you''re in the area (Sawgrass Mall), come by and help me out :)

HAD the same problem, spark plugs and ignition pulse generator fixed it.  Don''t know which one, changed them both at the same time.
