I''m trying to replace my head gasket. Both Bikebandit.com and hondaparts-direct.com list two different part numbers. I have no way of knowing which one I need. does anybody who''s replaced their head gasket remember which one it is, or if it matters? Also, a lot of the parts places I''ve looked at say the bore is 79mm, but it''s actually 77mm. Are they listing the bore for the gasket itself?

Bike Bandit shows their own internal part nos.

Go to www.ronayres.com for the correct part numbers or download my microfiche if you have a 92 onwards bike.

Or buy an aftermarket one from ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=020&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=300095429647&rd=1

Often it is cheaper to buy an entire gasket kit of ebay of place the The Old Bike Barn

I think you meant www.ronayers.com, not www.ronayres.com Either way though It doesn''t help. Ronayres.com shows three different part numbers with no explanation: 12251-MZ1-003, 12251-MM5-014, 12251-MM5-004.

For the 9-91 and 93-96, the current part# is 12251-MW7-791 (from servicehonda.com)

For the 87 model, use 12251-MM5-004

For the 88 model, use 12251-MM5-014 or 12251-MZ1-003. Something tells me that the MM%-014 has been superseded by the MZ1-003 number
