I have a new 06 that I scored a few months ago , I SAVED ALMOST 3000 Dollars and I am loving this bike. I sat ON the 08 and it just wasnt comfy for me the way the seat was positioned It felt strange to me and when  I sat on the 06 it fit like like a glove . I ''''''''''''''''ve got mild mods like pmc3, Jardine dual outlet carbon slip on and BMC race filters and it runs like a raped ape lol. It has more power than I can use on the streets its motor as been around and is proven with a excellent history and it has no problem running with my friends 08 gsxr 1000. I think The 08 IS A BEAUTIFUL BIKE  but like a nice looking pair of shoes that dont fit it wasnt for me personaly. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r69/TheFactor_photos/de93778a.jpg

I found a black leftover ''''07 and put money down to hold it last Saturday because it''''s cheaper, comparable power stock vs stock and IMO looks 10X better. Thought on it over the weekend and more research. Changed my mind, technology/progress prevails, and pick up an ''08 LE tomorrow

my money is on the 08 in red/black... I hear it is faster than yellow/black and black/silver.

I had to debate between the 08 and the 06. almost bought the 08 here is what I read and my decision. Here is what I was told from a few people who have both the 06 and the 08. 06-07 = better street bike, 08= better track bike. they said that any decent rider can get on an 08 and do better at the track but the 06-07 behave better than the 08''''s on the street.... My decision and Why. I traded in my 929, I almost signed on the 08 but didnt because the 06 looked better to me, the 06 had Hotbodie Flushmounts, Tinted windscreen, slip on, frame sliders, tank pad, and aftermarket passanger seat. They didnt have the 08 in the color I wanted, and I would have put exhaust and all of the above on it, it would have cost 2100 more, and the wife wasnt comfortable  with her job situation so Iwent with the 06 and I love it, and it turns out Im the one who got demoted for a bullshit reason on friday so Im glad I went with the lower payment

Should of gotten the 08, you wold have been promoted.

Haha, funny. I also found a leftover 07, had them hold it cause it was WAY cheaper, and looked 10x times better, etc. Basically all same stuff you said..... EXCEPT, I stayed with the 07.. haha, I figure all literbikes are good now a days, and stuck with the 07. Fits me better too. 08 is little and my buddy said I looked like a gorilla sitting on a tricycle on one.. lol

Black/red has to be faster at a molecular level.

i rode last night with two buddies of mine. one has a 05 repsol with 2bros exhaust. the other has 07 w jardine exhaust. we did two tests. 1.from third gear rolling start next to each other, i KILLED them both by a mile. 2. 6th gear rollon. no comparison, pulled away at a quick pace.

in both examples it wasnt even close. we are all very close in weight as well. this is clearly not scientific but it was a real world test. the 08 was the clear winner.

I was in a similar situation.  Was all ready to pay for a new leftover 07 1000, changed my mind in the last second.  Cost me 1700 more for the bike, but the increase in HP, and 39lb reduction in weight sold me on the bike.  I was upgrading from an 05 gsxr 600, so the idea that it handled liek a 600 appealed to me.  It took a full day for the looks to grow on me.  At 1st i thought the 07 looked much better in appearance due to the rear end.  The 08 just looks different than any other bike on the road.

On a Side note... I LOVE THIS BIKE!  Very happy with my purchase. I only have 100 more miles to go until i am out of the break in period.  Havent had a chance to really romp it yet, been staying under 6k rpms.
