Hey guys, I bought a 99  CBR 600 about two months ago and meant to join but unfortunately just haven''t gotten around to it. So before I get on to my problem I just wanted to say to hi to everyone and look forward talking CBR''s with you guys.

Alright on to my problem. Typically when I start my bike, it starts at a very low rpm (choke or no choke) around 750-1000 rpms. Usually I have to give it just a bit of throttle in the first second so that it doesn''t stall. After that it is fine to warm up and I go on my merry way. Well this morning I guess I didn''t get it throttled soon enough and it stalled after turning over a few times. After that I couldn''t get it turned over. The previous owner said he just replaced the battery before I purchased it so I doubt that is the issue. I''m going to borrow a volt meter off a friend anyways to check the battery and the cables. Other than that anyone haven an idea on the problem? Anyone experience this before?

Thanks for the help!

It is still cranking. Sorry I should have been clearer on that.

could be the fuel pump...as far as it wanting to stall when first starting mine does the same, I just give it some gas, my old bike did the same also...It also helps if you give it about 3 turns on the throttle before starting.

My bike did the same thing over the winter and when I got it to the shop it was the fuel pump, it started up, and then stalled and would start again, I could spray starting fluid in the carbs and get it to run for about 2-3 seconds.

Turns out that my choke cable just ended up becoming too loose. Friday morning was the first time that its been a bit chilly around here(and I planned on riding)  since I bought the bike. Thanks guys.
