Hey everyone, new to the forums, just signed up today. I had a question its a bit confusing. I bought an 03 954RR with 4k miles 3 years ago. Since then i never rode the bike, I didn''t have a license when i bought it and i thought i would get it back soon but I never did! Bought it from insurance company as it was stolen previously. I had a bill of sale and lost it, now i can''t get another one after i tried several times. My question is, Is my bike worth anything without the title/bill of sale? The bike is in mint condition with work done to it as well. Micron slip-on, pig spotter mirrors with led''s, undertail, flush mount turnsignals, polished lips on the wheels. This is beyond fustrating that i have this machine in my garage for 3 years and i didn''t even get to ride it. Any help/advice? Thanks, Dennis

You may be able to sell it to a stunter or a racer, but thats about it, and your not gonna get much for it.

Something like that happened to me with a car. I lost the bill of sale and the origional owner would not give me a new one. I typed up a bill of sale......and had a buddy sign it. Illegal as hell but desprate times call for desprate measures. It''s all little different for you seeing how the origional owers are the damn police.lol I''d still do it though.

I''m confused. Why can''t you just go to the DMV with the proof of purchase (receipt/canceled check or something) and they retype you a new one. Or the previous owner can go to the DMV with the old registration (as the vehicle is probably still under his name since it was never re-registered) and get a new title then sign it over to you. I''m sure this can be done with cars or bikes. Well, at least in Jersey it can

part it out, since you would have to do so in the first place to put everything on the new frame. plus it would save you the hassle of trying to locate a frame and save you the money it would cost to get the frame. that $2000 sounds almost reasonable if you price the cost of a clean frame with title.
