ORIGINAL: 2004F4i My 04 had no problem hitting 150 stock. Wouldn''''t change the sprocket unless you drive 130mph every where you go or if you just want better mpg and lose acceleration. 150mph is doable with stock gears n even -1/+2 bout thats about all they gonna get unless you gear it higher n kill the bottom end completely lol.

Ok, I read this post yesterday, so lastnight I decided to test my speedometer out. I''ve got an 06 f4i, completely stock. I called up a friend of mine that has an 07 corvette with a few minor upgrades to help me test it out... We got on the ponchatrain bridge (long strait, super SMOOTH bridge with light traffic at night). I told him to bring his car up to 140 and hold it at that speed. I followed behind and when he turned his caution lights on, I got in the lane next to him, and rode along side. My speedometer read 144 mph. So my speedometer isn''t off that bad.. I''m sure it gets worse as the mph increase though. I''ve tested this same thing before just to make sure my speedometer was correct after changing my rear tire shortly after buying my bike (got a nail in it). I rode along side of my brothers car at 70 mph, and his speedometer read 68. So it''s definately not exact, but still accurate within a few mph. As far as top speed.. I''ve seen 154 on my speedometer, steady increasing, but i started feeling a slight shake from the front wheel so I let off.

Ponchatrain Bridge (AKA The Caauseway).....Hrmmmmm sounds like u live pretty close to me. Unless theres another bridge like that in some other state besides Louisiana, LMAO.......=-) PS: Its still a 600 F4i......Dont expect much from it. Besides its comfortable, fun, and handles better than most bikes with dampers.....Just got a 954 front end for my ole ladies 01 F4izzy. Cant wait to put that on it, hehe....=-)

Thanks for the input Reaper. I''ve been riding on and off road bikes for over 20 years. I''ve rode CR 250 & 500''s on the sand, but no road bikes. I''ll try to keep my butt of the salt! Thanks for all your input.

LOL ok 170 ah ya no, first production bike to hit 170 range i believe was the Kawi ZX-11, then of course the Suzuki Hayabusa dropped the gauntlet down, the New Busa and ZX-14''s are prob close to 200mph w a TRE in of course ,which eliminates the goveror, all or most bikes are govern'' to 186mph, 160 seems about right for the F4i, ive only been to the 230K range (around 140mph) ballpark. My brother has an 05'' Busa and its insane when your pegged tucked and rolln'' only to have him fly by like im standing still

Theyre more accurate than bike speedos, but they still arent perfect, especially at 140. And Ive done 999mph before... then I went back down to 0mph real quick. Then I backed the bike out of the driveway and rode off

Confirmed 157mph GPS, 171mph speedo yesterday. Full crouch, full gear, 1/2 day ride essentials (plug kit, inflation kit, water, etc), almost 12k on the odometer. I was surprised how the aerodynamics of the bike actually push it down to the road at high speed. If I remember right, it stopped pulling at about 12,500 in 6th gear - where the HP peaks. It won''t accelerate beyond that as there is only less power available after the peak. Not something I recommend trying on surface streets or highways. These bikes take longer to get to 150 than 1000cc bikes you see on YouTube, obviously. You may underestimate the length of road necessary to accelerate and then safely slow down. Be careful out there.

The fastest I have gone on my 01 was a indicated I think 154. I know it had some more to go, but that was good enough for me. I know the speed is supposely to be off some, but who cares your flying either way.
