Hi, New to this site. Wondering what the top end is on a 2006 600 F4 that is stock? Haven''t dare try to find out around town. And if I go one up on the front sprocket how much more top end do you think I would get? Was thinking about running it at Bonneville speed week and would like to make the 130 club with minimal changes to the bike. Thanks for any advice.

well.....it goes 130....from what I have read there is a lot of wheel spin on the salt.... theoretically bone stock gearing and all, the f4i tops at 172....... I have been into the 140''s http://www.CBRForum.com/m_59623/tm.htm

I pegged mine once. Straight freeway I was familiar with, no traffic, or turns, etc. Got lucky on the no traffic part. Anyways, pegged and held until it just wouldn''t go any further... I got 159mph. Couldnt break 160 to save my life. I was pegged. But F4i''s have fairly accurate speedo''s I think, and I''d wager my 159 was real close to what it was really doing. I''d also poiint out I weigh in about 220. And 6''4". I''d imagine a smaller guy could get a little more out of her. I know quite a few people I''ve been runnin with and we''ll be messing around, I''m showing 130, and they''ll swear we were doing 155.... I know suzuki''s got very off speedo''s, and 600rr''s too. but I think I remember reading somewhere when F4is were the it Honda 600, and in a comparo of al the 600''s, that the Honda not only had the most accurate speedo, but was damn near perfectly correct. On a side note, if you''re gonna go up one up front, you are gonna have a lot of lag down low. Since changing sprocket anyways, do a 520 conversion and it''ll help offset that by quite a bit actually. I did a 520 conversion on mine, but couldnt find a steel 46t rear (wanted steel cause my 600 is my commute bike, and work is 60 miles away, so longevity was a factor) so ended up with a 45t. But even going down one out back, with the 520 conversion, bike still pulls harder off line and everwhere else than it did with the 525 chain and 46t.

Thanks! Correct just don''t know how much traction you''ll lose on the salt, and if upping a tooth would be necessary. It is a 1 mile track. Wouldn''t think so but they indicate if the track deteiorates alot it is comparing to driving on wet roads or ice. Would prefer to keep it stock for this but would like to make the 130 passes.
