fordtough....You should look for an 07 cbr 600RR. they made them in white and they look pretty good. Your girl looks good on your 1000RR too. A 600RR would be perfect for her..

jaynd.. looking good. Its a pretty good feeling once they get good enough that your not constantly looking in the mirrors at them to make sure they are ok. My wife is getting good too.. But its that scary point that she is comfortable. You know the old saying, the most dangerous time to be a rider is when you get comfortable.. you get too relaxed..

^ what scares me is that my g/f is 5'' tall and her bike is lowerd. when i take it out, the exhause manifold scrapes all day long in the turns. she''s yet to hit it, yet she''s getting more and more comfortable in the turns. it scares me, that one day i''ll look in my mirror and she''ll be cornering and the bike just isnt going to lean anymore b/c the manifold is scraping.......THAT scares me! i told her, and try to keep it in her head, that she has to understand that at some point, the bike just isnt going to lean anymore so she has to be careful. but i think she sorta holds back a bit b/c she knows that.......idk.

Yeah I hear ya. My wife is 5 foot 3 inches tall so I had to lower her bike 2 inches in the rear and 1 inch in the front. I also took about 2 inches of foam out of the seat..( those ninja''s actaully have foam in their seats...)  Her bike definately has less cornering ability now. Like your gf, my wife is pretty tame on the corners, but she is getting better. I really don''t think the chicken strips could be taken off now without the fairing hitting.

It cracks me up when people say they lowered their bike for better handling. As long as you only go in straight line... I guess its better....lol

yeah i cannot stand riding her bike. when i had my two accidents and i had no bike, she actually doesnt worry when i would ride it to work (w/ her permission, since its hers).....b/c she knows i cannot corner it like i can my F4i, lol. i couldnt own a lowered bike!

she actually took a turn REALLY well yesterday, as i looked in my mirror (i was already through the turn and on a straight stretch) i saw her coming through the apex leaning...what looked to be pretty far over.....i cringed and death gripped the bars, lol. i asked her later in the day "did your exhaust manifold scrape?" , she said no.......so...we''re still good!

those are next on the list before she rides it again....  at the msf class  they let her ride with thin white cotton gloves like the little christmas ones the girls all wear..

I got a few more pics finally.

Lowering your bike is fairly easy. You buy a set of rear lowering links from ebay. They run anywhere from $30-$50.  then the front is fairly simple. Just loosen the triple tree up and slide the forks though about 3/4 to 1 inch and retighten the triple tree. Just make sure they are the same height.

I wouldnt go any lower than 1 inch on the front and 2 on the rear. If you need more than that, you can uncover the seat, shave an inch or so off of the foam and reinstall the cover.

there is a thread on this subject on this forum as well.

thanks, she is really happy with the paint job. I on the other hand am not so happy. this was my first attempt at flames and I didnt want to over do it.. But I think I under did it. A few more up the side fairings probably would have been better.

But as long as she likes it.. thats all that really matters. I tried to get some better pics that would show off the pearl in the white, but the camera just doesnt pick it up very good. In person, you can see the pearl really good. It color changes from white to a redish pink in the sun.

We are certainly a couple of lucky guys to have the ladies in our lives that we do.

justasquid.. what kind of paint did you use... i paint cars for a living and have done 4or5 bikes..  im assuming what ever i get for the wife i''ll be painting...    i use basf at work they got a line of specialty colors similar to the house of colors and stuf like that.. i know im spelling it wrong but i think it''s carizma colors....     just wondering.....  also did you paint the outside of the windshield?   i''ve never had much luck painting the outside of that lexan plastic stuff.... i''ve always painted the inside of the bug shields and vent visors and stuff like that.. ?

I used a basecoat white. Then I applied a clear with dry pearl mixed into it. I used Rosetta Red pearl. Its a house of Kolor dry pearl. I used two coats of that, then cleared with another two coats of just clear.  The flames were a base coat black.

I would suggest getting ahold of a house of Kolor chip book. there are some really cool colors out there.

My wife wanted a pink bike, I wanted it to be something not so....... look at me... So we comprimised on this color. It really looks good in person with the pearl... the camera just doesnt pick it up too well.

Yeah, I did paint the outside of the windscreen. I didnt have any issues with it and its the 3rd one Ive done like this. The main reason I did is it was chrome mirror one that some of the chrome had flaked off. The chrome is on the inside of the screen so I couldnt paint the inside anyway. But I''''''''m sure it would be ok either way.

Here is a more pic of just the tank outside. You can see a little bit of pink towards where the tank protector should go.... In person.. its really pink... I can''''''''t figure out why the camera doesnt show it.. Plus, the flames are much more purple in person as well. One more pic of the side of the bike where the pink showed up a bit from the flash.
