My 99 F4 starts perfect but when I let the clutch out in first to ride from a stop the bike bucks and chugs. The problem seems to get worse as the bike gets warmer. I''ve read a lot of posts about problems with 2nd gear - but not too many with my problem. Any ideas?

Not sure if this will help, but I think I felt like I had this problem on my old F3. It turned out to be the clutch cable needed to be adjusted. Good luck.

^^^ I agree adjust your clutch cable, depending on milage, you might want to replace your clutch.

Thanks for all the advice. After reading the other posts, I''ve narrowed the problem. The clutch cable doesn''t seem to be the problem. The bike runs well until the fan kicks on. Once the fan is on, at low RPM''s it wants to die. If I come to stop, it bucks and sputters when I try to take off (or it dies completely). Thw fan is draining the battery and at low rpm''s, it isn''t being charged so there isnt enough to keep it sparking correctly. Based on what I''ve read, I think ''808 cbr f4'' is right about being the R/R. Before I spend $100 on one, I''d like a second opinion. Some of the posts I''ve read about this problem say its a carb or pump problem. Anyone? Any advice on where to buy a new RR / which part to buy. Any thoughts on buying a used one online?
