So lately my 95 900RR has been stalling when I stop at a redlight or stop sign. The bike just dies..no sputter or anything. Luckily it fires right back up again. Any else have a probelm like this?

I''m going through the same torment

I think my rectifier or stator or both are going bad.

Gonna take it to Honda this week to know for sure.

Do you have a voltmeter to test the charging system? I got a cheap one from Radio Shack for about 9 bucks.

It''s not a professional grade one, but it shows my battery isn''t being charged by my bike till it hits 6,000 rpm

Not the rectifier/stator. If that were the case, you would not be able to start the bike after a stall because the battery would be dead. If it just suddenly dies, the ignition system must be losing continuity somewhere. Either a bad connection, a ground from worn wiring insulation, or a failing kill switch. The continuity of the kill switches are the easiest to check. My guess is possibly the kickstand switch, because it dies when you stop, is it possible you are bumping it putting your foot down?

Something else that comes to mind to me is a corroded connection for the coils, but really the possibilities are endless when it comes to an electrical issue. You really just need to get a troubleshooting flow chart, and methodically go through it, especially before you start throwing a lot of cash into it. Could be something as simple as a loose connection between the coil and the battery.

I did bump up the RPM''s a bit at idle at that seems to have helped. What should the idle be BTW...I have it at about 1100 or so.

RPM could be up till 1.5 when the engine is really hot.. try it..
