My clutch only acts at the last 25% of the clutch travel.  Meaning that with the clutched pulled fully in i can release the clutch handle until the last 25% of the travel before the clutch engages again.

It''s a 2 month bike to me so i am still either over-reving or under-reving when i am releasing the clutch because i''ve been so used to the clutch action occuring atleast midway (50%) through the clutch travel.

Any advice on a fix?

You either need a new clutch cable or you need your clutch cable adjusted. I had this problem when i first bought my bike. the New clutch cable did the trick!.

+1

Sounds like a new clutch cable might do the trick.  You can always make sure your current one is properly adjusted first though.

ok don''t buy a new one first...there are a couple of steps to make shure that you need one...
1- make shure that the clutch is adjusted from the clutch cover, by playing with the nut.
2-adjust it from the lever.
3-is your clutch slipping thru high revs??? if it does than it''s the clutch, if it doesn''t that it''s not adjusted corectly.
have your lever nut turned full to the lever, as close as you can, if you have free play but the clutch doesn''t engage then you have to change the clutch.

mine only engages/diengages at the end of the lever pull as well, i always thought it was normal for our bikes. its got the right amount of freeplay, so im not gonna worry about it too much.

Hey, first measure the clutch lever free play at the bar, should be 10 - 20 mm.  Use the lock nut at the lever to adjust coreectly.  Major adjustments are made at the clutch arm, by loosening the lock nut and turning the adjusting nut to adjust free play.  If that doesn''t do it, replace the cable and or take the clutch apart if it''s slipping.

I''m with you AXSYS, mine only engages/disengages at the end of the lever pull too and I too thought this was normal.  My freeplay is fine too and I haven''t had any issues with the clutch so like I said...I assumed this was all normal.
