Here''s the deal 02 954 with full Akra exhaust, Power Commander and custom map, Gilles rearsets, zero gravity windshield, CRG Shorty levers, +2 Rear sprocket with 520, speedo healer, 23k miles and paid for with a clean title. Iv''e got the bug for a new bike but I don''t think I''m going to really notice the additional power of a new 1000 since I have never done a track day in my life. I ride pretty conservative except the weekend romps on twisty highways. The 954 is near mint condition. I''m a bit OCD if it get''s scratched I replace it. So what would you do?

i would keep the 954 if its paid for and buy something new. if you feel the urge after the new bike, then sell the 954.

I have had that same itch all summer, still have my 954. I have test ridden so many bikes its crazy, i still cant find one i like more. Not to say that you cant, but dont buy a bike cause we say so. Go ride some of the bikes on your list and see if ya like em.

I really like the 08blade...If you got the cash flow to cop a new bike.Do it,If your like me (broke) keep the the 954 its a great bike plus its modded already.I been flirting with the idea of a new bike too.but every time I get back from my sunday twisties ride.i think that Id be wasting money on a new bike.I might get some lighter wheels and call it the day

Buddy of mine sold his Aprilia RSV for his Ducati 1098S. At the release of the 08 1000RR, he gave up his 1098S for the 1000RR. Although he still has the Ducati, it just sits pretty in the game room. Now after riding his new 08 1000RR, i would "maybe" sell my 954 for that. But if i had to buy any other bike, then i''d just keep my 954. Simple fact "They made it 2 years and u dont see everybody and their momma with a 954 at bike night". I like the 08 1000RR because it feels like a 600, until u give it throttle, LoL........Oh teah and the Gixxers (Slozuki) is like a Grandma. Everybody has one and most of them are slow.....=-)

Thanks for the input. I like the comment about not seeing them everywhere. I am the only 954 in my bike club. If and that is if I get another bike I think I''ll keep the 954 and the Duc 1098 will be the new baby. Stay tuned.

You sure you want to keep your 954? ''''cuz I''''ll give you $3k for it..

I just noticed you have EDR mirror blocks. You''''re in Portland?I have a couple friends that work at MotoCorsa (NW 23rd), let me know if you''re gonna get a new Duc.

Nice.  Yeah, i''d keep the 954 unless you were a racer or planned to start.  Then other bikes would be worth looking at.

My guess from the look of it is the Ducati 1098 is probably not too comfortable for more than about 20 minutes.

Yep I''m in Portland. I love EDR. Eric has taken good care of me. CBRinPDX I think there was a typo in that email you typed 3K by accident.
I saw Ducati had a special on their finance rates. Wifey had to talk me off the ledge. The 954 will remain an only child for at least a few more months.

Keep the Five-4.

Sometimes I feel like I have the only 954 (that hasn''t been painted, chopped, slammed, stretched, streetfightered, etc.) in central North Carolina.....and I love that.

i say keep it, its nice to see older large bore cbrs on the streets and if ya like it and its paid for no need for a new one forawhile i''d think.  i just got a 929 after owning a paid for bike for 6 years...i know its old but everyone i meet around me seems to envy the fact i got a pretty slick 929...but then again they all ride them little 600cc machines haha
