I''ve had a bike stolen with a disc lock so that shows how effective they are. The thieves will simply pick up the back end (or whole bike) and drag it into a van or trailer. The only way to secure a bike is chain it to something.

+1
locks might stop a unprepaired thief, but a pro will get it if he wants it.

I have a Xena disc lock, like Rolandk said if someone want your bike they will just pick it up and carry it to a waiting van even w it chained up if they want it bad enough they will cut chain etc. Certainly having a disc lock is a good idea imo, unless its a new ducatti most thieves will prob move on to the next bike w no disc lock, just my 2 cents

i''ve seen locks for the clutch lever.  it''s a really good idea to have one along with the disc lock for the front wheel.  this way the can''t steal your bike unless they lift the whole bike into a car.

ya for sure i rec, its the 7mm pin one, yellow in color.  I keep it locked to rear tire, also have "reminder" bungee cord w it, the front tire i keep locked via ignition switch, that being said, if someone wants my bike they will have to lift it completly off the ground.

Hey, I had the xena before I found it a little but of a pain because it would go off when I was taking it off the bike and if the sensor gets dirty it doesn''t work that great.  I would honestly go with the 2 way paging alarm or something (gorilla).  I have a box fill of disc locks, german cable lock, etc and they are all really worthless unless you have somehwere to attach them to that is solid.
