So i ordered a HID kit form ebay last Sunday, and they just arrived today, which is awesome! But it looks to me as though I have run into a problem. It seems as though they weren''t long enough right off the bat, so my buddy and i decided to spice the wires and run them from the trunk of the "nana" seat, under the gas tank, to the top of the intake and hook up everything there. SO we went to Lowes and got some 12 gauge wire and some splice connects and cut the wires, spliced them all up and hooked up the lights to ensure we did the job done right. Well, it seems as though everytime we go to turn the key, with everything hooked up, theres a popping sound as though something is arching. The light still comes on, though the ballast seems to be humming, but everything seems to work. But that popping sound doesnt sound good at all. He ended up wiring one of the two ballast before he left a couple hours ago and it was popping. I just recently finished wiring up the other one a couple mins ago, to ensure it wasnt user error on his part, and I took my time and made sure everything was good and hooked up before I crimped the splicers and then wrapped them securely with electrical tape and its popping for me too! Tell me, cause im sure of it, that this is bad and there is something I can do! they look amazing when on, I just wanna make sure I dont injure anything electrical on my bike. Thanks!
Oh, and its been a while since I posted but I did finish the MSF course a couple weeks ago and got my endorsement, just to let you all know.

You''re not dealing with 12 volts here, it''s high voltage and the insulator on the wire you used ain''t cutting it.

I was looking at the same kit myself. Are these kits worth it, or should I look at getting another kit? I don''t mean to thread jack, but I want a good quality kit with no problems.

Thanks,
Zach
