I want mine about 4"~6" shorter. If I was sure it wouldn''t make a whole lot louder, I''ll do it Saturday, but I definitely don''t wanna make it so loud I start getting too much attention from the cops.

We dont have a state inspection, but having built a 600 hp 427 Vega once with a pair of homebuilt 3.5" inlet, dual 2.5" outlet, Flowmaster style mufflers, I know how loud exhaust can attract unwanted attention from people with blue lights and ticket books, even if youre not getting on it, and since I tend to ride my bike a little exuberantly, I really dont want to attract any more attention than I do now. Ive thought about shortening up my mid pipe too, to get the muffler more where I want it but then Id need to get it rechromed for it to look right, unless I went with a flat or low gloss black ceramic high heat coating. If I do the head pipe, I should probably do the header too. Decisions decisions. Right now the bike is naked, Im in the middle of repairing some cracks in my Fiberglass front fairing, priming and prepping for paint. I was just going to paint it black again, (it was white gelcoat when I got it, and I just sprayed some gloss black Rustoleum on it to make it look more like the stock one). But now that Im into it this far, Im thinking seriously about a whole custom paint job in an almost navy blue kinda "tealish" color, with some random silver "lightening" stripes. The other day, I caught a glimpse of a bike out on the road with a paint job sorta like I described in another town about 60 miles from here and it inspired me.
