I dunno, we''re finally taking a hit in the petrol so motorcycle sales should be rising, not falling.  I''ve been seeing more on the road than ever before so I don''t see why prices would raise as much out here.

Im thinking that all the sales numbers were up this year for almost every manufacturer, thats a fact. More people are buying due to high gas, thats not coming down, so why not jack up bike prices and make more money right?

Or this could backfire..They jack up their prices. and people relize that dropping that much on a new motorcycle actually isnt going to save them money..Thus losing sales. and taking even more of a loss..which i hope happens.

this is nothing surprising. inflation is hitting everywhere on the globe because of logistics.

I love my bike, and I''m glad I paid what I did to get it...but seriously, $13k for a new bike is just nuts.  For not much more than $13k you can get an AWESOME car..a freakin car.

Is there really $13k worth of labor, parts, and technology in a 370 lb machine?  Can someone justify it for me?

If that did happen would it in return make the resale value of our bikes more?

370lbs doesn''t mean anything dude.  A lot of technology was used in order to make it 370 lbs   Who knows though.. I doubt a whole lot of technology went into harleys but people still justify those prices by paying for them.

Yeah, all the execs sit in a circle and sing kum-ba-ya while finding ways to make us feel loved. Honda would absolutely do that.

HAHA, my buddy went to our local dealer wanting a 600rr, orange/black, and they had one there! he was stoked, 4 hrs later he calls me still excited that he bought a R6s....it came down to $86/month for the R6, or $207/month for the rr...kinda crazy in the price difference a month seeing how the rr was $9200, and the R6 was $8400...and for $86/month I was thinking about going down there and getting one too...

As far as bikes going up....supply and demand...if more people are wanting them, I can see them raise it $500...if they contine to sell as good...another $500...its the same way with harleys....$20k for a harley...no thanks I think I''ll  buy me a nice car, but to alot of people there dream bike is a harley....so they will pay it.

N8 dawg, the payment is $86 because your friend didn''t take out a real loan on the bike, those are "minimum payment loans" (I''m sure there is another name for it, but this way is easy to wrap your mind around).  If he has a 0% APR Loan (which you don''t usually get on motorcycles...) he will pay for it for 98 months before it''s paid off in full...that''s 8 years.  If there''s any kind of interest rate on the bike, he will likely never even make a payment on the bike, it will all be 100% interest payments.  Several finance companies do this to attract people who can''t afford the regular, realistic payments.

I think there allot in difference of pricing between the various motorcycle manufacturers.   We all know harley is expensive.  How can Harley be so expensive...I think it really should be, how are our bikes so cheap?   The constant R&D that goes into them year after year to be competitive is amazing, but they are still way cheaper than a technologicaly dissadvantaged Harley (or another brand really)   Honda makes more than motorcycles...cars, generators, even damn lawn equipment, they make profit from everything....when you consider other makers, and how diversified they are in their product, all they make are motorcycles.   I think any manufacurer or business for that matter will make as much profit as possible, they''ll bleed a stone, and up the price as much as the market will bear.  I can think of only one or two companies that keep the customer in mind and really, really keep prices to a minimum.  Just my humble .02 anyway.
