Im only .002 from a 1.7 60 foot, and Ive only had about 14 runs so far, in 3 trips to the track, first 5 were on the old Metzler 170 that I could break loose just cracking the throttle. Now if I leave at less than 8 grand and dont slip the clutch just right I wheelie and/or bog the motor. With the Shingko 190, my best time is a 11.79, best mph is 116, and best short time is a 1.81. I just need to see if I can get them all together or better in a single run. Next time I go to the track, (maybe this Thursday), I''''''''m going to an 1/8th mile track where I can get maybe 15 runs in in one evening, I should be launching better by then. I just lowered it about an inch on both ends too, for total of about 2 up front and 1 or 1.5 in the rear. and plan to get a strap for the front. My buddy with a stretched and fairly modded Gizzer 750 keeps buggin me to stretch my swingarm too, but I like the stealth approach a lot better, plus, my bike handles a lot better than his.

BTW, like with most big fat car tires, I tend to run the pressure a little lower than most riders, about 28 psi, track and street. If I had my druthers, I druther have a wider wheel too, but that will come in time.

For some reason, I cant get two of the pics to display in the other post, so here they are:

wow, my first thought was how dangerous a 190 would be throwing off the dynamics of the bike...but I ride the twisties. Seems to make sense for the strip though.

Back in the early 70s, when I got my first "street" bike, a Yamaha 125 AS2C 2 stroke twin, I did the same thing, bought the biggest Nangkang (Dunlop K81 copy but softer) that would fit, put a Barnett "racing" clutch kit in it and rode the hell out of it. Back then, I would give much bigger bikes a fit stop light to stoplight, but any more than an 1/8 mile they would go on by. Those were the days..... that kinda stuff these days though, will get you killed, or in jail.

Rick, you''re really dating yourself...some of us were not alive in the early seventies! But bikes have come a long way since then and you may get to triple digits stoplight to stoplight now.

Made my best pass ever last night, 7.59@99.59 mph w/1.759 60'' time. Even beat a BUSA, although Im sure it was driver error. None of those guys (all Busas) would line up with me again though, one mistake and they were mine. Good thing for me it was an 1/8 mile track, they would have killed me in the 1/4.

That''s awesome. Seems conceivable an F2 may have a slight advantage in 1/8th, being lighter. I would think they would be catching up quick at the finish though. Of course it prolly has alot to do with rider...and gearing.

I pretty much killed em all off the line up to mayby the 330 or 440 foot mark, then theyd blow by @ over 120 or 130 mph. I was launching at about 7000 to 9000, carrying the front wheel through first about 3" most of the time, shifting right on 13,500, and bouncing up again in 2nd. It was definitely hooking hard. Sometimes I didnt even do a burnout, just a couple dry hops, VHT is a WONDERFUL thing. I cant wait to see how hard I can leave with the front strapped down. Right now, Im just lowered about 1.5 in the rear, and maybe 1 3/4 up front.

BTW, good looking bike, n9ne_inches_later
