I recently laid my bike down pretty hard. Tried starting it, the kill switch is off, it in neutral, I can hear the pump, there is presure and the smell of gas coming from the exhaust and it cranks, but doesn''t start. Any idea, anyone.... sparkplugs?

no i crashed it going 80... had to replace every peice of body work, subframe, cowl stay, break lines foot pegs shifter levers handlebar power commander.... so ya it was pretty damaged... as far as the internals everything is in great shape.. as far as from me looking at it... so could it be my spark plugs or sumtin?

THe problem with a highspeed laydown is you can''t just asses damages based on aestheics.  I''d Reccomend you take it to a certified service center and have them look at the internals for you.  You could have knocked something loose.  And more suprinsingly, im suprised you''re bike is fixable after an 80 mph laydown.  Hope you didn''t get banged up too badly.

It is possible its the plugs. the best bet is to pull the plugs and lay the threaded part on a grounded surface such as a head bolt. Crank it over and see it fires. If it fires, its not your ignition and could be just a set of bad plugs.

Did the bike die when you crashed? Did the cylinders fill with oil from it laying on its side? If they did, it could have easily fouled your plugs.

There is a bank angle sensor that gets damaged fairly easily from a crash... if that fails, your bike wont start... but I''m not sure if won''t crank at all, or just wont start.. Im pretty sure if it fails though, the fuel is cut off too, so probably not your issue.
