Hello, I have a 2002 F4i that is leaking oil.  It appeared to be leaking from the oil pan, so I removed fairings and exhaust and pulled the oil pan.  I figured that there would be a hard (form fitting) gasket there, but there was none.  There was some ruber excess though.  So my question is does the oil pan simply use a high temp silicone sealant?

Also there was so oil residue over on the clutch side cover.  So I figured I might as well pull that cover as well and replace that gasket.  Is that cover hard to take off?  Are there any tricks to taking it off properly?

Thanks in advance for the help.
