ORIGINAL: Fretless33 I'll stick with a 14 dollar Target special...those are some expensive fugging backpacks!!! I could never justify spending that much on one and for that price, it better give you a back massage too!

I think as long as it's OFF your back it's ok, anyone else cares to give his or hers $0.02

That is what BACK PROTECTORS are for. You are worried about what you carry with you? You ever look at what is on the groun when you ride by? Slap a curb with your back at 80mph. Hope you don't like walking much. There used to be a pack or two on the market with integrated back protectors. That way it didn't matter if you had stuff in there or not, the BP would still do it's job. I have been thinking about taking a heavy duty pack with chest and waist straps and modifying it with a inner pocket specifically for a CE Level 2 back protector.

I have started riding with a single strap backback. At first I grabbed it by accident, but it turns out to be the best backpack I have riden with. i like the fact that the strap goes over your chest instead of under both of your arms. I feel that I can get the backpack tight enough to keep it from moving around without it digging into my arms.
