yeah - check oil level ..... how hot is your bike running? freeway temp should be 175-190 and stop-and-go should be 200-235

thanks, my oil is about half way between the lines, so maybe i'll add alittle to see what happens. and the other night it was like 50 degrees out and it was stayin under 225 in the city, but when i hit the open road it didnt go under 185 and it took it a long time to get down to that temp. i was worried about maybe the oil pump starting to go or somethin, i dont know anything about motorcycle engines so any help would be appreciated, thanks again.

My bike started doing the exact same thing after my last oil change. I have only put 25 miles on it since then but I am going to do another oil change today. So far I found there was to much oil in it and The filter had been sitting on the self for a couple of years. I have not taken it off to look at but the oil change was done at a Ducati shop after a Dyno run and custom PC map. I will post the results later.

What is your idle RPM set at? If it's too low that could cause the oil pressure light to flicker. Temp issue is probably not oil related -- most likely a thermostat starting to stick or you lost the fan (fuse, relay or dead fan).

New honda oil filter, New Honda oil same results The owners manual only says what the oil pressure should be @ 5400rpm. But the light comes on below 1300 rpm. Backto the drawing board

The sending unit could be bad -- you'll need a shop manual for specifics on how to check it. I've never seen anybody lose an oil pump unless something let loose in the engine/transmission. Way more common for the water pump to go.

Talked to the Stealership today. He said its probably just the oil pressure switch but better have it checked out. I will be taking it in tomorrow. If only my cousin had not dropped it.

You have to remove the tank and airbox to get to it
