We used to do them all the time... the one they put in the cannon, if they would have scored the bottom a bit before putting it in there they mighta got it to go. They were putting too much liquid to the amout of dry ice they added. All of ours blew up on their own, didnt have to be stupid and grab and chuck...

We had a 4" pipe that we'd put the bottle in and then stick things on top of. I swear some of the stuff is orbiting still.

Yep...done it....they are great....we used warm water though because its allot cheaper to use empty ones instead of going to the store and buying them....the 20oz make for a better sound..more like a rifle....however.....a 2-liter or 3-Liter(if you want the Atom-bomb sound) is just the right size to slide into a standard mailbox.....not that i ever did that.......i do remember a "friend" teling me that the steel mailboxes mushroomed, the wooden ones shattered into splinters and even a brick ones werent safe.....

For an added sound effect......stuff a 3-Liter into a standard driveway drainage tile.....if you hit the bottom end with a BB gun, it will usually rocket out the other side with a really cool echo...

I agree about being stupid and picking it up......I dont guess those guys ever heard of a BB-gun......Thats what we used to "help" the stubborn ones along......Party-supply stores are a great source of dry-ice, at least they used to be...

We get the rabbit turd looking dry ice at work. Put it in a 20oz bottle about 1/6 up and use COLD water to the top. Screw on the cap, toss and it'll splode before 10 seconds is up. Never use HOT water cause it'll splode in less than 3 secs. Not safe.

OWN3D, its pronounced "tater" gun here in the south, which is where i'm sure it was invented. Only a redneck could think of something like that.
