i just got a 97 cbr 900it has a real quiet slip on.would a race typeless restrictiverequire jet changes?

Welcome to the board! Post up some pics of the old 900 when ya get a chance.

Now to the question ... what kind of slip on are you currently running? The 2Bros are generally rather loud with a deep tone and you don''t have to jet ... unless you have other mods that might affect air flow.
